4 Ways Manchester City Can Win The League In April

Manchester City are strolling to the Premier League title under Pep Guardiola, 16 points clear of nearest challengers Manchester United. It seems a matter of time until their city rivals are crowned champions. However, the league leaders can make this happen faster than you may think.

Below are three ways City can clinch the title before or in April

1 – City crowned champions at Everton on March 31

The Citizens could have the title wrapped up by the end of this month if Liverpool beat United and then lose to Watford next week.

2- City to win the title at Manchester United on April 7

The league can be all-but won when City face Everton due to their superior goal difference should the above scenario happen but Liverpool defeat Crystal Palace on March 31.

That will also be the case if United avoid defeat against the Reds but go on to lose to Swansea.

In either of these scenarios, City would still have to wait for mathematical confirmation the next week in the Manchester derby.

The most-likely events that would lead to an Old Trafford City celebration will be if Mourinho’s players win or draw against Liverpool and then go on to win against Swansea before losing to Guardiola’s stars.

3- City to claim title after Merseyside derby on April 8

Fans of City will undoubtedly want their team to be playing when clinching the crown, but they could be celebrating after watching the Merseyside derby on April 8.

Should Liverpool beat United and go on to overcome Watford and Palace, they will be 18 points behind the Etihad side if the leaders had also maintained their winning run.

The Reds head to Everton the day after the Manchester derby – which would mean anything but a win would hand the title to City.

 4 – A title win at Wembley

City could also end up being confirmed as champions at Wembley against Tottenham on April 14 – if they drop points before then.

But that could change if their re-arranged match with Brighton is scheduled amongst the build-up, with the same going for United’s trip to West Ham.

And of course, all of these scenarios depend on whether City’s lead is cut shorts over the coming weeks.

On which of the days do you think City will win the EPL title?
