#HOUSEYARNS – REMO STARS FC NPFL SLOT NOT FOR SALE – KUNLE SONAME
The Management of Remo stars football club have categorically denied the strong media report claiming that the team may opt not to play in the NPFL next season despite gaining promotion from group B1 of the NNL last season.
A top football website in the country had reported that negotiations may be ongoing between Remo Stars and already relegated Ikorodu United about swapping places in the league, a deal which would be financially beneficial to Remo Stars but means a demotion back to the NNL while Ikorodu United retains its place in the premier league but the owner of the club, Honorable Kunle Soname has come out to categorically deny such negotiations are ongoing.
“Ikorodu United has never even contacted me on this matter or any matter in the last 6 months. It is only in Nigeria that you hear of slots being sold. That is alien to football vocabulary in civilised climes. It is either you are buying a club or buying shares in a club”, the Remo Stars chairman further stressed.
