Manchester United’s Tyler Blackett Joins Celtic On Loan

Manchester United defender Tyler Blackett has joined Celtic on loan until the end of the season.

The 21-year-old was presented to the Celtic faithful at half-time during their league match against St Johnstone on Saturday.

Hulme-born Blackett, a member of United’s 2011 Youth Cup winning squad, made his senior debut for the Reds last season.

The academy graduate clocked up 12 appearances last term and agreed a new long-term contract at Old Trafford in February.

His switch to Celtic is his third loan move, having enjoyed previous spells at Blackpool and Birmingham City.

Blackett will link-up with former Under-21 colleague Saidy Janko, who moved to the Bhoys on a permanent deal this summer.

Speaking to the crowd at half-time, England U21 international Blackett said: “I’m very delighted to be here and I’m just excited to get started.
