Peter Odemwingie desperate to maintain fitness
The 34-year-old attacker is ready to feature prominently for the Potters having made a return to Mark Hughes’ squad on Tuesday night
Stoke City’s Peter Odemwingie has expressed his desire to maintain his fitness after recovering from an injury-hit spell with the English Premier League outfit.
The Nigerian made a return to the Potters’ starting line up in their 1-0 defeat at Fulham in Tuesday’s Capital One game after several months on the sidelines owing to injury left knee, rupturing the cruciate ligament, medial collateral ligament and meniscus.
He was replaced by Xherdan Shaqiri in the 84th minute of the encounter played at the Craven Cottage.
Odemwingie aims at staying fit towards getting more playing time in Mark Hughes’ team while praising his team for their victory against the English Championship side.
“First start for me in over a year. Hope I stay fit and have many more. Solid team performance today and we are through to the next round!,” he tweeted.
