Exclusive: Siasia Traces Team Success To Discipline And Good Rapport
Head coach of the U-23 national team also known as Dream team 6, Samson Siasia has attributed the success recorded by his side so far in the All Africa games qualifiers to team discipline in and out of field of play and the good rapport between the players and the coaching crew.
Siasia revealed that the defensive mindset of the team had all along been a source of worry to him because in most of the games played, his team always conceded around 2 to 3 goals per game and “I keep telling the boys that our defense was a problem and I am happy that we are fixing the problem now because we did not concede much against the Gabonese.
According to the former Nigerian international, the team is just only about 3 months old and so it will not be wise enough to go out to the world and say their is a team on ground but a work in progress.
He advised that the team must remain focused, keep improving and do the same thing they did against Gabon as we face Zambia as he expresses beliefs that the current U-23 side will be a team that will go a long way.
