Steven Gerrard Host Stars After Charity Match on Sunday

Former England International and Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard had a memorable day on Sunday, after a charity match was played in honour of him and his former Liverpool teammate, Jamie Carragher.

The match featured Liverpool stars both old and new alongside other premiership stars of the past, in a game that involved Gerrard XI vs Carragher XI. Xabi Alonso, Alvaro Arbeloa, Dirk Kuyt, Pepe Reina, Luis Suarez and Fernando Torres where some of the familiar faces involved in the charity match on Sunday. The match ended in a 2-2 draw.

An after party was held at the Hilton Hotel in Liverpool, with the stars and their WAGS.

‘I enjoyed the day. It was brilliant being a part of it,’ Gerrard said.

‘The main reason we were here today was for the charities, to help give something back to the city. Me and Jamie [Carragher] were keen to do another event and with a big help from the club we’ve made it happen. We’ve done it in an enjoyable way.’
