Wayne Rooney misses Manchester United trip to PSV

Wayne Rooney is out of Manchester United’s Champions League game with PSV with the injury he picked up last week in training.

The skipper missed the win over Liverpool and, as expected, will not play a part in Eindhoven.

Youngster James Wilson has been included, despite being linked with a loan move to the Championship. Andreas Pereira has also travelled, having overcome an injury sustained with Brazil Under-23s.

David de Gea could make his first start of the season in the competition; the Spaniard did not play either game against Club Brugge in the play-off round.

United squad: David De Gea, Sergio Romero; Daley Blind, Matteo Darmian, Paddy McNair, Marcos Rojo, Luke Shaw, Chris Smalling, Antonio Valencia; Michael Carrick, Ander Herrera, Andreas Pereira, Morgan Schneiderlin, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Juan Mata, Ashley Young; Memphis Depay, Marouane Fellaini, Anthony Martial, James Wilson
